Privacy notice
This website runs no analytics, sets no cookies and carries no advertising or tracking of any kind. What follows is the full account of the little that is processed, why, and what you can require of us.
1. Who is responsible for your data

For anything in this notice - questions, requests, complaints - write to [email protected]. We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer and have not appointed one; that address reaches the person who decides these matters.

2. What this notice covers
This notice covers www.etherneco.com only - the pages you are reading and the product catalogue on the home page.
Our products run on their own addresses (for example remote.etherneco.com, ssh.etherneco.com, finance.etherneco.com). Each of those is a separate service with its own terms, its own sign-in and its own privacy information. Opening one from the catalogue takes you out of the scope of this notice.
Where we build or operate a system for a client and that system processes personal data, the client is normally the controller and we act as processor on their written instructions under a separate data processing agreement. This notice does not govern that relationship.
3. What we process, why, and on what basis
There is no contact form on this site. The only way to reach us is by e-mail, so the only personal data you give us directly is what you choose to put in a message.

We do not use analytics, advertising networks, social plugins, session recording, fingerprinting or any other tracking technology. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who else touches the data
- Hosting. The site is hosted by [hosting provider], which stores the files and serves the pages.
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare, Inc. provides DNS, caching and protection against attacks. Traffic to this site passes through its network, so it processes connection data including IP addresses.
- E-mail. Messages you send us are handled by [e-mail provider], which hosts our mailboxes.
These suppliers act as our processors and may use the data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell personal data, we do not rent it, and we do not share it for anyone's marketing. We disclose it otherwise only where the law obliges us, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
5. Transfers outside the UK
Cloudflare operates a global network, so connection data may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data leaves the UK, the transfer is covered by the safeguards permitted under Article 46 of the UK GDPR - the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable, together with the supplier's own transfer commitments. You may ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
6. How long we keep things
Correspondence is kept for as long as the conversation is useful and for up to 24 months after the last exchange, unless a contract, a tax obligation or a legal claim requires us to keep it longer. Server and security logs follow our providers' standard retention. When a retention period ends, the data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you may ask us to:
- confirm what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy (access);
- correct anything inaccurate or incomplete (rectification);
- delete what we no longer need (erasure);
- pause processing while a dispute is resolved (restriction);
- hand data you gave us to you or another controller in a machine-readable form (portability);
- stop processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests (objection).
Write to [email protected]. We answer within one month; if a request is complex we may extend that by up to two further months and will tell you why. Exercising these rights costs nothing unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
8. Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first - we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority at any time:

9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, sits behind Cloudflare's protection, and is a static site: there is no database, no user account and no login on www.etherneco.com. Mailboxes are protected by two-factor authentication. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever affected your rights and freedoms we would notify the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and tell you where the law requires it.
10. Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this notice
If we change how we process personal data, we update this page and the date at the top of it. Material changes will be flagged in the summary line. Previous versions are available on request.
